Scaling Back
For now (January 2025) and for the foreseeable future, I’m taking a step back from direct client instruction so that I can focus on my family and other endeavors. I’ll still be maintaining this site, keeping up my MMCP status, and offering local marriage prep in Parsons and SEK, as able.
For existing FiatNFP members, I’ll continue walking with you through the end of your paid membership term (1 or 2 years from your initial sign-up). After that time, you’ll want to connect with another instructor for ongoing text/email support and full follow-up care.
For local clients in the Diocese of Wichita - you are blessed with some truly wonderful Marquette Method instructors nearby! You can find them in our online directory of Certified Professionals here:
Please know that stepping back from instruction does not mean stepping away from my love for NFP or the commitments that are close to my heart. This shift simply gives me more space to focus on advancing the mission of the Boland Institute of NFP by precepting instructors-in-training, as well as serving through the Marquette Method Professional Association in my roles on the Board of Directors - as President Elect and Chair of the Practices & Innovations and Governance Committees. See more about the MMPA and it's BOD here.
Going forward, I will no longer hold office hours for direct client consultations and instruction. I’ll return emails as I’m able with referral input, but I will no longer be available for text/email/meetings with couples. If you have questions about these changes, please reach out by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
I’m genuinely looking forward to this next season of focus and growth, and I humbly ask for your prayers. Please know I will continue to keep you all in mine as well.
I hope to return to direct client/couple instruction in the future, if time allows...
Many Blessings,
2024 Office Hours

New office hours for 2024 - listed in Central Standard Time!
For 7 years I've been open to texting at any time with clients and students/preceptees, but as our boys age and our evenings and weekends are full of athletic events, it's become necessary to put some boundaries on work availability.
I'll be responding to as much as I can during the hours listed for both FiatNFP members and MUINFP students. I will no longer be responding to texts outside of the listed hours. Email is the preferred method of communication going forward.
Thank you for your understanding!

Daylight Savings | How to change the time on the CB Monitor
It's that time of year again! Daylight Savings Time ended overnight, but your Touch Screen Clearblue monitor's time will not change on its own. If you're within the first 4 days of your cycle, you can change the time on the TS monitor by following these simple steps:
- Power the monitor on and press the HOME button
- Select the SETTINGS icon
- Select the TIME icon
- Select OK to accept that the monitor can only be changed by 1 hour
- Select the format you prefer your monitor remain in: 12-hour is standard, 24-hour is military time
- Select -1 hour since we are rolling the clocks BACK in the fall. In the spring, you would select the +1 hour button
- Select OK
Once these steps have been completed, you should see the appropriate time on your monitor! If you are further into a cycle than days 1-4, you cannot change the time on the monitor without completely reprogramming it & losing all prior and current cycle data. I suggest waiting until your next menses and adjusting the monitor time as above within cycle days 1-4.
Original monitor users do not need to worry about changing the time as the original version does not display it. However, you should be aware that the monitor will maintain the set testing window currently saved within its internal, 24-hour memory. If your testing window was set from 4a-10a, it will become 3a-9a with the fall time change. In the spring, the testing window will move back an hour to 5a-11a and testing will need to be adjusted accordingly. Luckily, the testing window is re-established with each new cycle setup and will become the 3 hours before/after the "m" button is pressed with your next new cycle setup.
I hope you all enjoyed your extra hour of rest last night and I pray you stay healthy and warm throughout these coming fall and winter months!

Extend Touch Screen Monitor Battery Life With This Easy Tip!
Touch Screen monitor users may have noticed that the batteries need to be changed quite frequently! With postpartum and breastfeeding protocols in particular, testing every day for months on end will drain batteries even more quickly than regular cycles use. To maximize battery usage, press the HOME button followed by the SETTINGS icon. Turn the display brightness allllllll the way down. The display should still be quite legible at it's lowest setting, and the lower brightness will more than double the battery life!
NOTE: This will need to be redone any time the "Reprogramming Procedure" is completed and the memory of the monitor is cleared.
Enjoy the additional weeks of freedom from removing the pesky back cover of the monitor and the money saved with the improved endurance of each set of batteries!
Blessings,

National NFP Awareness Week | July 25 - 31
Happy National NFP Awareness Week! July 25th marked the 53rd anniversary of the papal encylical Humanae Vitae which eloquently articulates The Catholic Church teaching on conjugal love, responsible parenting, and sexuality. What a fitting day to kick off a week in which we celebrate and promote Natural Family Planning!
This year's theme is "To have, to hold, to honor: Supporting God's gifts of love and life in marriage." All NFP methods value and support God's gifts of both love and life and should be celebrated and promoted this week. To NFP instructors and couples practicing Natural Family Planning, THANK YOU for your witness.
May you have, hold, and honor one another while you practice NFP and support God's gift of love and life in your marriages!
Blessings,
